A Canadian study permit, also known as a student visa, allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. To be eligible, you must be accepted into a DLI, demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses, and meet other requirements like having no criminal record and being in good health.

What is a Canada Study Permit?

  • A study permit is a document issued by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that grants permission for foreign nationals to study in Canada.
  • It’s essential for international students to obtain a study permit before entering Canada for the purpose of education.
  • It’s not a visa in the traditional sense, but it allows you to enter and stay in Canada as a student.
