Dreaming of studying abroad, advancing your career, or starting a new life in an English-speaking country? The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is the modern, fast, and fair way to prove your English language skills and make those dreams a reality.
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based exam for non-native English speakers who need to prove their proficiency in the language to study, work, or migrate to an English-speaking country.
Accepted by over 3,500+ higher education institutions in over 70+ countries, including top universities like Harvard University, the University of Oxford, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the PTE test is recognised for university admissions, professional registrations and visa applications in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Canada.
The PTE exam assesses how well you can combine your speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills to handle real-world situations. So, the test comes with integrated skills questions across speaking, writing, reading, and listening aspects of the English language to reflect real-life language use. Its straightforward format is divided into three parts:
- Part 1: Speaking and Writing
- Part 2: Reading
- Part 3: Listening
These 3 parts of the PTE exam have 22 question types, excluding the Personal Introduction. There will be 3-4 or 5-6 questions of each of these question types on the PTE exam. For Indian students, a good PTE score is crucial for securing admission to international universities.
